The builder counter offered and I accepted :D I think I got a great deal!
Now that I've drank a glass of ume plum wine to celebrate, I can freak out about how much I have to do between now and 2 weeks when I put my house on the market to sell... and then there is the what if it doesn't sell in time...
OMG OMG OMG
I'm still very stoked about this. So many of my friends are so encouraging about my move. Everyone says that Wallingford is a great neighborhood. Yaye!!!
Spent the whole day doing "homework" on where I'd move if I move to Seattle and I ended up making an offer on this really sweet townhome in Wallingford area with a water view and a little backyard. OMG. I can't believe it. This means I have to sell my house in Kirkland asap so I won't be paying double mortgage. Holy shit! OMG! Excitement!!! OMG!
The deal hasn't gone through yet but I'm pretty sure it will... OMG.
I just had a night of ultra fun with my friends at the Shark in Kirkland dancing our asses off. I actually went to school with the bassist of the 80's cover band Mr. Miyagi that was performing. SO FUN!
Before I forget...
I plugged up another work toilet today and quietly ran away after I washed my hands.
At least this time the toilet water stopped rising before it overflowed itself.
Heh.
I hate work toilets. They so suck and you never know which one is going to embarrass you.
It was JUST PEE!!!
And even if I did poo, I don't think rabbit pallet girl poos would clog it up.
Maybe someday I'll become the premier expert on the psychomalogical affects of clogged toilets in workplaces have on worker productivity.
Oh, I have aspirations.
A few of my friends are moving. It gives me the urge to get a new place and move... especially from the Eastside to Seattle. I've always lived on the Eastside since I grew up on the Eastside... and currently it's near work (20 minute drive). BUT now that I'm single, the Westside (Seattle) is more suitable for the type of lifestyle that I now lead (going out and meeting new peeps and drinking so that I should be taking taxis instead of driving).
Then again, maybe I'm a change whore. I've always thrived in change and get bored easily. The real estate market is shiiiiiite right now though... so maybe I'll wait a little bit and see if it becomes even more of a buyer's market. Hmmmmmm... :) Perhaps a townhome or a condo in Seattle. Hmmm... :)
Just had my mid-year career discussion with my manager. I guess the perception is that I'm doing a pretty good job. A better review than I had thought I was gonna get :) Apparently I just need to speak up more in of an expert tone since I am being seen as a Web innovations expert of some sort. Neat! I shall then :) Other than that, I need to continue with the relationship building piece, get better at prioritization and organization, which I knew (never been good at that kind of stuff). The overall reviews from my direct reports about me as their manager is pretty good too... all Agree or Strongly Agree. So I'm focusing on moving the Agree to Strongly Agree :)
I like having a manager who is good at things I'm not (organization and prioritization). She's been much better than my last manager who wasn't willing to do any sort of organization change or encourage bettering of the process. And truth be told, since I've had this new manager, I've liked my job a lot better. It's true that your manager is the #1 most important element why people stay at their jobs.
I'm now following Obama on Twitter :D yah!
Ugh. There were actual sparks shooting out of the tiny rip of my Apple power adapter. Lame and scary. I had to buy a new one online just now. The Apple brand one is $79.99 - so expensive. Luckily, I found a knock off for $24.99. Call me cheap, but I didn't want to spend that much money on something that ripped so easily again. I love Apple but this is something they need to improve on :)
and it tastes like magic.
Pepper Jack grilled cheese sandwich on Rye + chicken noodle soup.
It's my way to "encourage" myself to workout later this evening. I rock.
