She is about 1 - 2 lbs and will grow up to 7lbs max. She is all snuggled up to me right now :) I luvz her!
Went to @bethgo's house last night (I met her on BrightKite) and hung out with her and 2 other friends that I knew. Watched Mad Men (never seen it, but it's good) and talked geek. I was able to bring Solo to play with @bethgo's little dog Willie and Solo was tuckered out by the time we got home around 1130pm. While I was getting ready for bed, Solo crashed on my side of the bed completely. I didn't want to move her cuz she was so endearing and so I positioned my body around hers as not to disturb her. Damn. I did not sleep well. I think my neck was bending awkwardly all night. Owie. Solo, of course, slept super well and I even had to wake her up this morning as I was leaving for work. Cute.
There are few things that really set me off:
- when I finally realize/feel that I'm being taken advantaged of because of my good nature
- when someone back stabs me and/or not being direct with me
- animal cruelty or mistreatment of animals
Today, I will talk about item 3.
My neighbor 2 doors down has this Great Dane 6 months old puppy named Amos. He is huge, and probably has his head come up to my chest already at his young age. A shy dog but a nice dog. All of the townhomes in the back row have enclosed yards but with short 4 feet fences. The two non-end units (mine and the one to the right of Amos' townhome) do not have gates on their fence and you can only access the yard from the back door of the house. This means that in order to get out of the yard, you have to have a way inside the house from the yard and exit from the other end of the house.
Last week while I was sick and stayed home for most of the week, I heard Amos barking and whining here and there. He is left out by himself almost everyday. Over the weekend, he was again left out and he saw me and barked. I heard a voice from inside his house saying "Amos, shut up". I just want to go knock on their door and say, you have a fucking puppy and he needs a lot of attention than you are willing to give him.
Today I've been working from home and I hear sad Amos whine here and there. Like, really desperate heart breaking cries of loneliness. I so want to go over and pet him because I can see him from my yard.
Why do people think it's OK to get an animal and not pay attention to it? Especially when the animal is a puppy and you need to get it socialized with people and other dog. This dog is isolated in a tiny ass yard almost 24x7... rain or shine. This makes me angry and sad. :(
Took a 3 hour crappy ass nap because the dogs were attention starved and kept trying to wake me up the whole time. Got up at 3am to continue with my wireframing endeavors. Finally got done but I'm sure we'll make more edits after I get into the office at 10am. I'm pretty damn proud of the work though :)
So tired. Lack of sleep + overworking = no workout + not eating healthy + new zits soon + unhappy pets
For all this work, I'm gonna treat myself to one of them space foam beds (I used to have one) for the new place.
No more doggie doo for me! They even train the dogs to go in only certain areas in your yard and get rid of the yellow pee spots in your grass! Yaye! I will see if I can afford this in my budget!

This evening I will be getting the cats and Juno. They will meet the puppy for the first time. When Juno was adopted 7 years ago, Romeo, the dominant Siamese cat promptly jumped on top of Juno and proceeded a full on attack to show her who is the boss. To this date, Juno is afraid of Romeo when he is in a pissy ass mood.
If you guys don't hear from me by the end of week, please send someone over to my house. I'm sure my lovely dead body will be half eaten by my starving dogs and cats. Thank you.
This morning while I was getting ready in the bathroom, Solo barked at the reflection of me and herself in the mirror for like 10 minutes. It was so cute with her non-intimidating puppy bark as she was "protecting" us. Hahaha. She's at work with me now and sound asleep in her little kennel. For a puppy, she is really mellow and laid back. She can sleep through the night without needing to go to the bathroom and whimpers a little when she needs to go. Only had one accident in the house so far because I didn't understand why she was whining. Still a bit shy and won't come to me, although she whines when she can't see me.
I love puppies. They're one of the best things in this world.
